From ZIP to your first stock change.

Before you install

Use a staging copy of your WooCommerce store and take a backup. Validate the installation against your own products and extensions. Check version and database requirements and test other stock, import, POS, or inventory extensions with it.

Have a simple stock-managed product and, if you sell variations, one variation with its own stock and one using parent stock ready for testing.

Install StockControls Free

1. Download the Free ZIP.
2. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
3. Select the ZIP, install it, and activate StockControls.
4. Open StockControls → Setup & health for the first steps and storage checks, then Inventory.
5. If inventory looks empty, enable Manage stock on a sample WooCommerce product and check the filters.

Add Pro when you need planning

Install and activate Free first. Download the Pro ZIP, upload it through the same Plugins screen, and activate it. Free includes Suppliers and Purchase orders. Pro adds Replenishment and advanced receiving controls.

The 1.0.0 evaluation release does not ask for a license key. It does not connect to a billing or update service.

Check your first adjustment

1. Find a sample product and note its quantity.
2. Add a small quantity change, such as +2, with a reason like “Staging test”.
3. Preview the change, check the quantities and reason, then apply it.
4. Confirm the new quantity in StockControls and WooCommerce.
5. Open stock history. Check the before/after values, user, reason, and time.
6. Record a separate −2 adjustment with an explanatory reason to return to the original quantity.

Updates and removal

There is no automatic update delivery in this release. Check the changelog and download page for released packages; back up and test any update on staging. Install the matched Free package before Pro.

Ordinary deactivation retains records. Free has an opt-in deletion setting for movement history and temporary batch results. Pending purchase receipts prevent deletion so they can recover safely; it does not delete WooCommerce quantities or thresholds. Supplier and purchasing records are retained after uninstall. Export and back up records before deliberate removal.
